Welcome to Sidekick Homes, Solutions for Independent Living.
Sidekick is currently changing to better serve our customers.
Providing families with “solutions for independent living” has always been our original passion and expertise, and now we intend to focus more closely on this goal. It is our desire to build the highest quality living spaces for older family members or special needs individuals, places where they can live independently but close enough to family for those times when they may need an extra hand.
Our website is being revised to reflect this change in focus, and to make the decision to design and build a Sidekick even easier for you:
1- Design your own cottage - Choose the size of an Accessory home you want, the number of bedrooms, the number of stories, and other design qualities, and we will present you with your ideal Sidekick home in printable form within moments. If there are still other features not included that you would like us to consider, we would be happy to design you a home exactly to your unique specifications.
2- Sidekicks will no longer necessarily be modular in construction. Most tight spaces in backyards are not big enough or within easy reach to install large modular units. In most cases our homes will be framed on-site in conventional fashion, using the latest green building components for maximum energy efficiency.
3- This shift toward site-built construction will also allow us to respond faster and serve our customers better. We have partnered with qualified local builders in major metropolitan areas who can consult with you personally. They can quickly and easily help you decide if a Sidekick home will work on your property, and provide you a complete estimate in a very short time. We currently have builders in Denver, CO, Austin and San Antonio, TX, Walnut Creek, CA, Seattle, WA, and Santa Cruz, CA. We will be adding builders in other cities as more municipalities adopt zoning regulations that allow Accessory homes to be built.
4- Fully accessible floor plans in every Sidekick home means more space to maneuver, particularly in kitchens and baths, and around beds. We have also incorporated a variety of new accessible home features into all of our designs, making our homes work for you, not against you, and providing a truly unique and caring environment for your loved ones.
